Collaborating with interior designers and architects, I create brands and brand expressions to complement the creative spaces and experiences that Shea is known for. My work, while often independent, supports every stage of a project and shapes the guest experience before, during and after they visit.

Pints & Paddle — The brand, the building and the concept were built from the ground up with Shea involved in every stage. We surveyed the booming pickleball landscape and got to know our clients to find the sweet spot where Pints & Paddle’s brand expressed the right energy, attitude and depth.

Schmitt Music — Family-owned for four generations and 125 years in business, Schmitt came to Shea to design a new flagship store and also take a hard look at their branding. It was time for every Schmitt touch point to embody a spirit of discovery, joy and approachability.

A new wordmark bridges the past and the future and straddles tastes to appeal to elite musicians and band moms alike. • Letterforms feature an exceptionally tall X-height that emphasizes the rhythm of the letters and enhances legibility in digital environments.

DeGidio’s — On an unassuming corner of St. Paul there’s a beloved century-old restaurant and bar with connections to Italy, Prohibition, gangsters and a bazillion local wedding and graduation parties. They came to Shea to update their bar, their dining room, their exterior and their storytelling. We helped them synthesize their long history and sort through the mystique vs. the facts to find a brand voice that’s genuine, playful and layered.
